My First City2Surf in the Green Group – Running Through the Rain to a PB
17th August, 2025
Last weekend, I took part in the City2Surf for the very first time as part of the green group, and what an experience it was! The City2Surf is not just any run—it’s Sydney’s iconic 14km race from the CBD to Bondi Beach, attracting tens of thousands of people every year.
Halfway through the race, the skies opened and the rain poured down. At first, it felt like a challenge, but soon it became refreshing and almost motivating.
Despite the wet conditions, I managed to cross the finish line with a personal best of 1:16:21. For my first green group run, I couldn’t be happier! The feeling of running down the final stretch into Bondi, with the crowd cheering despite the rain, is something I’ll never forget.
Why It Matters for Health
Events like the City2Surf aren’t just about running—they’re about celebrating movement, resilience, and community. At The Body Project in Chatswood, we love helping people prepare for challenges like this, whether it’s improving running form, managing niggles, or supporting recovery after big events.
If you’re inspired to take part in your first City2Surf, or want to keep running without injury, our osteopaths can help keep your body moving at its best.
