Osteopathy is one of ten regulated healthcare professions in Australia. Osteopaths must be registered with the Osteopathy Board of Australia and patients can check their osteopath’s registration online. Training to be an osteopath in Australia requires the successful completion of a five-year full-time university degree.
Visceral Osteopathy is a branch of osteopathy that focuses on treatment of the viscera (organs) and can be used to aid in the management of digestive issues. It can be likened a little to abdominal massage, though more specific in its application.
Naturopathy is a holistic approach to wellness based on the principle that the body has the inherent ability to heal itself once the drivers of disease have been removed and balance is restored. Naturopaths recognise that what drives a condition in one person may be completely different to another.
What is Massage?
Massage is perhaps one of the oldest healing traditions. Many ancient peoples – including the Ancient Greeks, Egyptians, Chinese and Indians – were convinced of the therapeutic properties of massage and used it to treat a variety of ailments.
What is Needling?
Dry Needling is a treatment technique whereby a sterile, single-use, fine filament needle (acupuncture needle) is inserted into the muscle to assist with decreasing pain and improving function through the release of myofascial trigger points (knots in the muscle).
