Naturopath Debbie Kaczor discussing gut health and holistic wellbeing with a client at The Body Project clinic in Chatswood.

The Gut Feeling You Shouldn’t Ignore

By Debbie Kaczor, Naturopath

Nov, 2025

We often think of the gut as being all about food – what we eat, how it digests, and what
happens after. But your gut actually has a much bigger say in how you feel day to day.
From your mood and energy to your skin, hormones, and even how well you handle stress -it’s all connected.
As a Naturopath, I see the gut as the foundation of good health. When it’s in balance,
everything else tends to flow more smoothly. But when it’s not, those little clues start to pop up – bloating after meals, low energy, irregular bowels, brain fog, or feeling “off” for no
obvious reason.

Where naturopathy fits in..

Naturopathy is all about looking at the whole picture – what’s driving those symptoms
underneath the surface. Rather than offering a one-size-fits-all plan, it’s about
understanding your unique system and supporting it back to balance.
That might include:

  • Food and lifestyle guidance tailored to your digestion and metabolism
  • Herbal and nutritional support to calm inflammation, repair the gut lining, and
    strengthen your microbiome
  • Support for the nervous system (because stress and digestion are closer friends than
    most people realise)
  • Functional testing (like microbiome or stool analysis) to see what’s really happening
    in the gut

I often find that once we start improving gut health, other pieces begin to shift too -energy
returns, sleep improves, hormones settle, and the mind feels clearer.

If you’ve been wondering whether your gut might be playing a role in how you feel, this can
