Bringing the Latest Shoulder Expertise to The Body Project
At The Body Project, we’re always looking for ways to improve the care we provide our patients.
I travelled to Berlin in July to attended The Painful Shoulder course presented by internationally recognised physiotherapist Adam Meakins (@adammeakins). Adam is one of the world’s leading educators in shoulder assessment, shoulder rehabilitation, and the treatment of shoulder pain, sharing the latest evidence with healthcare professionals across the globe.
As an osteopath, I believe learning never stops. Research into shoulder injuries is constantly evolving, and attending courses like this means we can continue to offer our patients the most up-to-date assessment, treatment and rehabilitation strategies.
Whether you’re experiencing rotator cuff pain, frozen shoulder, a sporting injury, pain from the gym, or simply discomfort from everyday activities, an accurate assessment is the first step towards getting you back to doing what you love.
One of the biggest takeaways from the course was the importance of understanding why your shoulder hurts—not just treating the symptoms. Every shoulder problem is different, and successful treatment comes from taking the time to understand your goals, your lifestyle and how your shoulder is affecting your day-to-day life.
At The Body Project in Chatswood, we combine hands-on osteopathic treatment with personalised rehabilitation programs to help reduce pain, restore movement and build long-term strength and confidence.
I’m always grateful for opportunities to learn from clinicians like Adam Meakins (@adammeakins) and to bring that knowledge back to our patients here in Sydney.
If shoulder pain has been stopping you from exercising, working, sleeping or enjoying everyday life, we’d love to help. Book an appointment with our team and let us get you moving comfortably again.
